AnalogX Vocal Remover works similarly to hardware removers - since in most instances vocals are equally mixed in both channels, they can be identified and removed by simply changing the phase on one channel by 180 degrees. This does not work in all instances, but will work in most cases, and can sometimes be used to remove bass or breakbeat sections as well. To use AnalogX Vocal Remover, your application must support DirectX Audio plugins, and must support either realtime or non-realtime processing. The software also requires a stereo sound stream, and supports either 16bit or 32bit data types. To use the WinAmp Vocal Remover, you must have WinAmp installed, which also requires a stereo sound stream and only supports 16bit data types.
