If you do inventory for ordering purposes only or to come up with a pour cost %, visually eyeballing is probably ok; however, to capture that elusive last 10% of missing sales that most bars experience, you need to be very precise with your measurements. When counting open bottles, using a scale is the fastest (even faster than eyeballing) and most accurate method.
