The app calculates nutrient requirements as per NRC 2001/ARC, 1980 nutrient requirements for dairy cattle which were adopted in the ICAR, New Delhi (2013) feeding standards for cattle and buffaloes in India.
It formulates rations for calves upto 70 kg body weight assuming Average Daily gain of 300 gand for heifers @ 500 g ADG between 70-300 kg Body weight.
The application works completely in offline mode (no internet connection is required). The user initially has to select the animal type, whether it is calf or heifer and then can accordingly use the application for the respective animal type. The main aim is to optimize the use of crop residues and so well balanced rations are possible by selecting Dry Roughage, Green Roughage and Concentrate components.
