The 5 capitalisation schemes are Mega Cap, Large Cap, Mid Cap, Small Cap and Micro Cap whereas the 3 investment styles are Value, Core and Growth. MethodologyWe strive to create an Investable universe of stocks by applying Market Cap and Liquidity filters and by eliminating stocks with negative book values. These rules are applies once in a year All the stocks whose Log of Market Cap is less than the Mean of Log-Market Cap are excluded. We also apply liquidity rules where the stocks have to achieve a minimum amount of trading volume in the last one year relative to their market cap values as on the date. Once the universe is selected, they are further classified into Market Cap and investment style segments by applying standard rules and methodology. Each stock’s, market cap segments and cut-off’s are arrived by applying statistical rules and the stocks investment style segments i.e. Value, Core and growth are arrived by using fundamental ratios like Price/ Book, Price/ Sales and Price/ Earnings. The stocks are further classified by using the combination of Market Cap segments and Style segments. Each stock is also classified into 18 industries.FeaturesFilter & Sorting: The ï¬Âlter buttons on the top panel filter the stocks by logical groupings such as capitisation, industries and major indexes. The buttons are color coded according to the performance of the group. You can mouse over any button to get the trading volume of the group. The heat map can also be sorted by ticker symbol, price change, volume or market capitalization.Stock Details, Graphs & News: You can mouse over any ticker symbol on the heat map to get market metrics for the selected stock such as the day's open, high/low and trading volume. Clicking on stock brings up a panel with charts and stock-related headlines with links to the individual news items.Change/Volume Diagram: Upon selecting an individual stock group you will see a “bridge bar chart†of all stocks in the group with visual representation of price change and trading volume for easy evaluation the group’s overall performance.Data sourcesThe data for EquityWatch is sourced from the Exchanges, viz the BSE & the NSE, Accord Fintech Private Limited and Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE).
