ABOUT Lowvel

Lowvel is a free tool to erase data irreversibly from various data storage devices such as rotational hard drives, SSDs, and USB thumb drives. Sometimes, such irreversible data erasing is called low level format. When running, Lowvel overwrites data stored on the device with zeroes, i.e. performs so called zero-filling. Lowvel can be useful when you want to: - erase all the data on the device irreversibly - for example if you are going to sale the device; - force a device to reallocate bad sectors - e.g. if you plan to use a second-hand hard drive; - improve write performance of an SSD which is not TRIM-capable. Once you erased all the data using Lowvel, neither a data recovery software nor a data recovery service will be able to recover this data. Lowvel works under Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7.
