ABOUT NOTAM reader
NOTAM messages can be fetched, stored, and displayed; each NOTAM can be categorized, analyzed and translated for normal reading; filtering relevant NOTAMs for specific categories, timeframes, airports and places enables quick and efficient use of NOTAMs, without missing important ones. Retrieval of international NOTAMs is immediate, whereas fetching local Israel NOTAMs takes some time, as a NOTAM database is built (only once, at first usage). You'll receive a scrolling list of NOTAMs. The first purple line is the status bar. The following orange lines are new NOTAMs (two days old), and the silver lines are of older NOTAMs. Click a NOTAM line from the list to display its details, classifications and translation. You can click on any position coordinates to see the place on a map. Press the Android's Back button to return to the NOTAMs list. Click the refresh icon (at the top right of the screen, above the NOTAM list) to refresh the NOTAM list (and the database in the Israel case). Click the filter icon (at the top right of the screen, above the NOTAM list) to open a filter configuration screen. To see all NOTAM messages (neutralizing the filter), check the 'All' in the green part of the screen (all Traffic, Scope, and Relevance categories), and DON'T check Time, Locations, or Place boxes. To filter out NOTAMs, mark your choices: Checking Time allows you to choose a specific time interval for relevant NOTAMs (click on the dates or times to set them). Checking Locations allows you to select specific airports (by their four letters ICAO codes), separated by commas. Entering a negative code (e.g., -KGAI) means all airfields but KGAI airport. Checking Place allows you to define the position and radius for which relevant NOTAMs apply. Pressing the Current Position button automatically insert your current location. Position setting is done by clicking the coordinates.
