Recent history of space bodies and Earth:
A meteor exploded over Russia. An unnamed meteorite exploded over the Ural region in Russia causing more, than 400 injuries. A meteorite has flared spectacularly in the sky over the Russian region of Chelyabinska and lot of cameras captured the gigantic, unearthly flash of light, when the meteorite exploded. This accident is the best documented meteor explosion yet in the history of Earth.
Another incident happened also: recently asteroid 2012 DA14 skimmed closer to our planet than any other known asteroid (asteroids are bigger space bodies, than meteorites or meteors). The 2012 DA14 is only 50 meters across, passed 27500 kilometers away from the surface of Earth. If the 2012 DA14 would entered Earth's atmosphere, would remained intact, and then would struck land, it is estimated that landfall would been comparable to the Tunguska impact of 1908 in Siberia caused by an asteroid composed by solid rock of the diameter of 36 meters.
