Dr.Web® Anti-virus for file servers under Windows provides a reliable means of protection of the information stored on servers operated by Windows NT/2000/2003. The program combines high scanning speed of huge data amounts with minimal possible load over the operating system. Dr.Web for Windows file severs includes new Dr.Web antivirus engine and new version of the SpIDer Guard® resident monitor specially developed for operation in Window-based file servers. SpIDer Guard checks in the real time mode all file operations - both at workstations and on servers - operated by Microsoft Windows and provides for flexible settings allowing a user to set his own scenario of operation with different objects detected on the drive. < b > Monitoring and distribution of load < /b > New settings have been designed to optimize productivity of the anti-virus protection system on servers. They allow to limit checked files’ size, control maximum size of the unpacked archives files or exclude files or even whole directories from search. In addition, new parameters of settings providing for flexible scanning of archives in a real time mode are developed, as these operations are known as most time-consuming and critical for the operation of the anti-virus on servers. SpIDer Guard distributes a load over the file system scanning files opened on local “read only” drives when a file system is less loaded. < b > Scanning of archives < /b > Dr.Web for Windows checks for viruses in ARJ, MSCAB, GZIP, RAR, TAR, ZIP, LHA, BZIP2 and many other archives, regardless the nesting level, including multivolume archives and self-extracting archives (SFX). < b > Handy administration < /b > Standard tools of the operating system allow an administrator to set his own scanning schedules and necessary log’s details degree. The statistics of the checks made dynamically displays the information on time of the process' operation, on quantity of the checked files, on the detected viruses and other useful information. Any action of the anti-virus taken for protection of the data stored on the file server, are logged into the log file. < b > Notifications system < /b > The intellectual control technology over the viral activity almost excludes triggering of false alarms and allows to avert any actions of a malicious nature. If infected or suspicious objects are found, a program, by default, automatically undertakes actions to block a threat. At an administrator’s option these objects can be deleted, cured or moved to the quarantine directory. < b > Automatic updating < /b > The anti-virus engine and the virus bases are updated automatically via the Internet from the updating servers located in Russia, Japan and USA. The virus analysts of Doctor Web, Ltd. release the updates immediately after a viral threat is detected. New updates are available, as a rule, twice per hour, after they are tested over the huge number of clean files. Tens or hundreds of viruses are added to the Dr.Web virus base every day. < b > Technical support < /b > Highly qualified specialists of the company’s Technical support service provide for free support of registered users by e-mail or phone during the whole license term. < b > Supported operating systems < /b >
