This application determines the factory default WEP key for Eircom Netopia routers. This series of routers have a default WEP key which is related to the router serial number, router SSID, and router MAC address. When the application is started, if WiFi is disabled, it is started, and a background service is started which becomes active if the Wifi is not connected to a network. Netopia routers applicable have a MAC address starting with 00:0f:cc, and have the SSID in the form eircomxxxx xxxx. If a near router is found with this MAC address, the default WEP key is formed and the network is added to the known networks available for connection and connection to this network is started. The default WEP key is generated by the method as explained at www.bacik.org This application is only applicable for determining the default WEP keys for Netopia modems in Ireland.
