The Etymonix MPEG-2 I-frame Video Codec for Win95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP is a software-only video compressor/decompressor based on the standard Video for Windows (VfW) architecture. It can be used with a wide range of existing applications (such as Adobe Premiere, Fractal Design Painter, Ulead Video Studio, Ulead MediaStudio Pro, Windows Media Player, Macromedia Flash MX) that support VfW codecs. Typically, these applications will store the compressed MPEG data generated by the codec in an AVI file. A wide range of resolutions and frame rates (including NTSC and PAL) are also supported. This codec is specifically engineered to preserve quality during image processing while providing better compression than lossless solutions. Typical compression ratios between 2:1 and 5:1 can be achieved. Along with the common YUV 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 modes used in the video industry, it provides a unique YUV 4:4:4 mode for better-than-broadcast quality. Test results show that live video can be decompressed and recompressed an infinite number of times with no visual degradation, even to the expert eye. This makes the codec ideal for video editing where the video may be processed many times. There is no logo overlay in the registered version.

Etymonix(tm) MPEG-2 Video Codec License Agreement IMPORTANT - READ CAREFULLY: By downloading, installing, copying, accessing or otherwise using the Etymonix MPEG-2 Video Codec, you agree to be bound by the terms of this license agreement. If you do not agree to the terms of this license agreement, do not install or use this product. The Etymonix MPEG-2 Video Codec is a shareware product and its extended use requires registration. A 30-day trial period is allowed for evaluation purposes. After that period, you must either register the product or remove it from your system. Definitions "PRODUCT": The Etymonix MPEG-2 Video Codec (including but not limited to the images, logos, animations, video, audio and text), its documentation, and all the files contained in the distribution package. Ownership All versions of the PRODUCT are the sole property of Etymonix Inc. and are protected by copyright laws and international copyright treaties, as well as other intellectual property laws and treaties. The PRODUCT is licensed, not sold. License Grants By registering the PRODUCT, you are granted a non-exclusive, non- transferable, single-user license to use one copy of the PRODUCT on a single computer exclusively for the registered usage type. You may make one copy of the product solely for backup or archival purposes. Except as expressly provided in this license agreement, you may not otherwise make copies of the PRODUCT. You may store and install a copy of the PRODUCT on a storage device, such as a network server, that is only accessible to other computers on an internal network; however, you must obtain and dedicate a license for each separate computer on which the PRODUCT is run (regardless of whether it is run concurrently or not) from the storage device.
