It is with great pleasure that we bring to you FFX 1.52. originally written as a tool for UNITS Ltd. (B'Kara Malta) for automated backups it has since then be re-written and adapted for public use. A tool which can locate files quickly, But the name does not show the full power of FFX. With FFX a user can > Backup files > Find files > Find Duplicate files > Automate procedures relating to backups > Off-site backups using the archive-to-email facility > Comprehensive logging > Fast and efficient syncronization of files on a network - perfect for mobile users > Comprehensive logging Being fast is one thing. But FFX is also very flexible. A variety of options is available to narrow down your search; by type, by size, by creation/modification or access date. By time. Exclude and include. Containing and/or. Finding a file has never been so easy. FFX boasts a very comprehensive log facility which shows exactly what has happened - and when; and how long it has taken to do so. If you are an administrator, this will prove very useful especially when using the automation feature. Never underestimate the power of good logging in a backup tool. FFX also uses the best compression engine around - 7-zip; not re-inventing the wheel - rather using the existing 7-zip (www.7-zip.org) to do the job. And that is the hallmark of this excellent tool; rather than try to re-write already existing and well proven tools, FFX enhances the capabilities of such tools and uses them to its best advantage. Traditional .zip is also supported though it gives lower compression rates though faster compression speeds Another example of this is the network backup facility - which uses the well proven ROBOCOPY (by Microsoft) which is rarely used by regular users as it is command line based.
