GRADE GUIDE is a versatile and flexible program used for the storing, retrieving, analyzing, and reporting of students' grades. This easy-to-use program not only provides all the functions available in a traditional teacher's gradebook, but its selection, reporting, and statistical features allow a teacher to perform with ease otherwise difficult but useful and important gradebook tasks. GRADE GUIDE makes it easy to enter gradebook information either from the keyboard or from an existing text, MS Access or MS Excel file. It provides a wide variety of report formats which can be displayed on the screen, printed on a printer, or saved on a text, MS Access or Excel file. It produces lists of individual students' grades convenient for distributing to a class as well as reports in a traditional spreadsheet format or a powerful user designed form letter format. GRADE GUIDE distinguishes between students with name, alias, and section number. For each student you can store up to 6000 grades and 20 text notes. It allows you to separate different types of grades into as many as 30 grade categories. It provides eight different grade types so you can store letter grades and number grades in the same class. It uses NONE grades for students whose assignments are incomplete, allows extra credit grades, provides very flexible averaging and the generation of grades, calculates grade statistics, lets you select out students with particular characteristics for special processing, and makes it easy to teach the same class for several grade periods.

Any individual may use GRADE GUIDE for a period of up to six months before purchasing a license for continued use. Two types of GRADE GUIDE licenses are provided: individual and site. An INDIVIDUAL LICENSE is granted to one individual who may use the program on any number of computers and make as many copies of the program as desired for personal use. Payment for an individual license is $50 (US) and should be sent to Jon Kane. GRADE GUIDE can print order forms as part of its help facility. If your payment is being sent by a third party (such as the school purchasing agent), send notification of your payment to Jon Kane so the license can be registered in your name and the program can properly display the name of the person holding the license. Each user of GRADE GUIDE is required to register. Registration is not automatically extended to a user's spouse or other family members. If a household has one registered user, a second person at that household may be licensed to use the program by sending the name of the second person and an additional $10 fee. The second person license cannot be extended to a third person and is not available to persons not sharing the same home address. A discount of twenty percent is offered when five or more individual licenses are ordered at the same time. Names and addresses of each of the individuals ordering must be included in the order. A SITE LICENSE is available for any organization (department, school, college, university, school district, and so forth). A site license grants a specified number of people at that site or institution the right to use the program as long as they remain employed at that institution. It also can include the making of minor modifications to GRADE GUIDE for special use at that site. Site licenses are offered to groups of 5 or more users. The cost of a site license depends on the number of GRADE GUIDE users at the site according to the following table. Organizations wanting a site license independent of the number of users at that site should contact Jon Kane to obtain pricing information based on the number of employees at the organization. Applications for site licenses can be printed by the GRADE GUIDE help facility. Applications for site licenses should include a site name which is displayed by the program.
