CardioMood provides a scientific approach to your heart rate variability analysis. Make sure to use THIS free version to test connection with your heart rate monitor and only purchase expert version if it works for you. With HRV Lite you will be able to: ✓ Take measurements of your HRV with unlimited durations ✓ Estimate your average stress level (Bayevsky Stress Index) ✓ Calculate time-domain HRV parameters (mRR, SDNN, RMSSD, pNN50) ✓ Detect and eliminate ectopic beats ✓ Sync with the CardioMood cloud at https://app.cardiomood.com We also calculate 20*log RMSSD, which is a popular metric for HRV used in many apps, such as ithlete, SelfLoops, Bioforce HRV, Lepo and others. Just as in other apps we call it "HRV score". Do even more on the website: home.cardiomood.com We will be glad if you support our project by purchasing Expert HRV (an expert app for HRV analysis). We hope you will like our effort and leave us a positive feedback! :) Requirements and limitations * At this moment we only support Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy (aka Bluetooth SMART). * Your phone must have Android 4.3 or higher. * Even though we support recording with unlimited duration, you should avoid very long measurements. * To avoid problems with cloud syncing, the time and time zone should be set correctly If your device is not supported, don't give up and don't give us negative review. Feel free to report a bug, or request a new feature via [email protected]. Free CardioMood Account In order to use the app you will need to create a free CardioMood account. We do not distribute spam and everything is for research purposes only! We provide it for free to get more feedback, so that the algorithms can be improved. If you do not trust us, simply specify a fake name. :) Instructions Our heart is controlled by autonomic nervous system, so heart rhythm reflects its state. By analyzing beat-to-beat variability (also known as HRV), we can easily estimate the ratio of activities of sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. Our body reacts to stress by increasing sympathetic tone. When we are stressed, our heart rhythm tends to be more stable resulting in a low variability. In contrast, a relaxed state is usually associated with high HRV. Here is how you can evaluate your stress level: 1. Wear your heart rate monitor and relax (sit in the chair or lie down) 2. Set the measurement limit to be 2 min. 3. Establish connection with your heart rate monitor 4. Click START RECORDING 5. See your heart rate graph with average stress level after 2 minutes If you see artifacts or ectopic beats, try to eliminate them or adjust heart rate monitor to ensure good connection and repeat the procedure. We estimate stress level using standard algorithm developed by a soviet physiologist R.M.Bayevsky. Normal range for stress index is 40 – 150. Values above 150 is considered to be associated with stressed condition. Values below 40 are often associated with sleep (it is like that for example if you stay awake too long). Even though there are standards for HRV, all estimated parameters and normal ranges can be individual. Only a trained physician can correctly interpret the recording, with respect to your individual features and medical history.
