This is a Locale plug-in and Tasker plug-in.
It detects if a hostname is reachable. For instance, you can detect when a given computer is turned on or off on your home network.
This condition can be restricted to work on Wi-Fi only.
This plug-in is highly customizable:-Hostname or IP address to ping-choose the trigger to be a “pingable” or “unpingable” condition-choose the timeout-choose the number of retries
