Mathadi Workers are Unprotected Labour who do mundane loading and unloading jobs and are covered under the Mathadi Act in State of Maharashtra, India. The labour department has established various Mathadi labour boards where these workers and their employers are registered. The Mathadi Boards collect the Monthly Salaries with Levy on behalf of these Workers from the employers and then distribute the monthly salaries to the workers after deduction of Provident Fund, Monthly loans/deposits of Pathpedhi (Credit Co-operative Society) where the worker is registered, Income Tax, etc. The Boards maintain the Provident Fund of the workers, Pays Gratuity, Bonuses and also takes care of other Welfare activities of the workers. The deductions of the worker on behalf of the Pathpedhi is then reimbursed to the pathpedhi who credit the worker's respective loan, deposits account.
