The QuickGPS application is a prebuilt program into the HTC systems that can retrieve information from the internet via wifi or other type of available connection. The data retrieved by the program is after that used by the GPS system to guide the user to where he needs to go. This is a very useful way to retrieve and process data from the satellites much easier than the usual away.
