RSS Plugin with graphical user interfaces that fully integrate into the Edit Environment of Silva Elm's Sense Editor. GUI's include a Control Panel, a Feed browser to review the generated RSS and an Editor for RSS content authoring in plain-text. RSS news item descriptions may be optionally styled in HTML without need of XML and HTML technical knowledge. Validation and publication is direct to website using Sense's integrated FTP client. A Feed Manager configuration provides a selection of online Validation and Publishing schemes for optimization between 'primary' and 'secondary' websites. RSS content is maintained within a Sense "feed document" that is directly editable for customization such as namespace extension. The plugin provides automated RFC822 date entry and atom self-reference update. A Site Manager is provided to support image and enclosure upload and more general website maintenance. New "feed documents" are created from RSS 0.91, 2.0, blogChannel and Apple itunes-podCast templates supplied with the installation. Custom templates may be easiliy created. All "feed documents" are associated to the plugin's "Editor Style" that defines and enables dynamic loading of the GUIs' into the Edit Environment at the appropriate time. An integral Help includes a Getting Started tutorial using sample feeds. Help on feed customization is provided with specific examples on namespace extension including xmlns:atom. News item descriptions may include headed sections, paragraphs, bullets, (thumbnail) images, internet hyperlinks and email addresses for that extra HTML styling. Special character encoding is supported. The web browser GUI provides a preview (Feed Reader) presentation of your newly generated feed and a switch to view the raw XML.
