The SMPlayer project is intended to be a fully functional front-end application for Mplayer. It contains a suite of features from basic functionality (playing videos, DVDs, and VCDs) to advanced configuration (support for MPlayer filters) and many more. One of the most brilliant features of SMPlayer is the fact that it remembers the settings for all file types the player ever renders. As an example when a user starts to watch a certain movie but he needs to leave, when the user returns and opens the movie again, it will resume at the same point where it was left, and with the same settings such as audio track, subtitles, volume etc. Features include: - Configurable subtitles: Font, size and colors customization for the subtitles. - Audio track switching. - Seeking by mouse wheel. The mouse wheel can be used to go forward or backward in the video. - Video equalizer: adjust the brightness, contrast, hue, saturation and gamma of the video. - Multiple speed playback: play at 2X, 4X etc. and in slow motion. - A variety of filters available: deinterlace, postprocessing, denoise and a karaoke filter. - Audio and subtitles delay adjustment: sync audio and subtitles. - Advanced options: select a demuxer or video and audio codecs. - Playlist: enqueue several files to be played one after each other. - Preferences dialog: configure every option of SMPlayer by using a friendly preferences dialog.
