SystemRescueCd is a system rescue disk for Linux and it is available as either a bootable CD-ROM or an USB stick. The application pack is mainly used for administrating or repairing systems and data after a crash. Its goal is to provide an easy way to administrate a computer with options such as creating and editing partitions on the hard disk. It comes mainly with linux software such as known system tools (parted, partimage, fstools) and a number of basic tools (editors, midnight commander, network tools). SystemRescueCD doesn’t need an installation as it is bootable straight from the CD-ROM. The kernel provided supports most of the important file systems such as ext2/ext3/ext4, reiserfs, reiser4, btrfs, xfs, jfs, vfat, ntfs, iso9660 as well as network filesystems (samba and nfs).
