Developed by a teacher and an aide who have spent the last 10 years working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). This app is designed to help with initial toilet training along with generalisation of this skill.
Toilet Sequence ASD provides a picture sequence with optional narration to visually and aurally support each step of the toileting routine to aid in the child's recognition of the steps required. The app includes a star chart, adding a star to the final picture each time the child goes through the Toilet Training Sequence. After 5 stars the child's carer can provide extra recognition and the star count starts again.
Throughout the App, the images are very clear and basic to help with the visual discrimination issues that some children with ASD encounter. The precise nature of the steps helps the child to understand what they are required to do.
The App includes tips on when to start Toilet Training, and how to use the App to assist your child with the steps necessary to become independent and master these toileting skills.
