Duplicate image search is a common problem in the modern world of terabyte hard drives and unlimited Internet access. Many files virtually get buried within the informational depth of your computer. Not a big surprise that many images, photos and pictures become duplicated over time. Same images in different resolutions, picture formats, or a little bit modified find their place on your hard drive making it really hard to find what you need among these countless clones. Visual Search Pony offers a simple yet effective solution to the duplicate images problem. This all-terrain, all-wheel driven software toolbox discovers duplicate or just similar images using the built-in technically advanced mechanisms. With it, the problem of eliminating low-quality duplicates becomes solved in several clicks. Remarkably, the program automatically detects the best images and marks all others for removal. By default Visual Search Pony prefers older images to newer ones, and uncompressed or raw formats to JPG or GIF. Locating doubles is fine, but Visual Search Pony also can search for modified copies using one of two intellectual algorithms. The first one analyzes the color scheme of a picture and builds a so called "color map". Using it, the program can detect duplicates of a sample image even if they are rotated, scaled or pixelized. The second algorithm allows you to find similar pictures using the contour of a sample: this way Visual Search Pony can unearth even those pictures that have their colors changed.
