VNCPush pushes the VNC Server application onto any remote host running a Windows NT/2000/XP operating system. The VNCPush framework is very portable and lightweight, requiring very low disk space and system resources. In addition to pushing the VNC Server application to remote hosts, VNCPush includes the ability to remove or 'pull' VNC when it is no longer needed. The development of VNCPush focused on the needs of consultants who face a variety of support issues. VNCPush has since proven to be an effective tool in managing enterprise environments as well. From solving problems at remote offices to interactively assisting users with desktop applications, the VNC platform provides flexability that Terminal Services cannot. VNCPush works with older Windows NT Server and Workstation operating systems as well as the Windows 2000 Workstation platform which do not have any type of Terminal Services available. In addition VNCPush can also be used on the Windows XP Home edition which does not include Remote Desktop and on the Professional edition which does not by default have Remote Desktop enabled. VNCPush is written in JScript and utilizes Microsoft Internet Explorer's HyperText Application (HTA) interface for GUI interaction. All that is required to run the application is Internet Explorer and Microsoft's Windows Scripting Host (WSH) included on all Windows NT platforms.
