VPN-over-DNS provides free Internet access by tunneling data over a DNS server, connecting your device to our VPN server farm. More informations: vpnoverdns.com

It works through almost any private network, like those with captive portals, hotspots (hotel & airport wi-fi areas) or web censoring firewalls, for instance.

Compared to others implementations of IP over DNS, a major benefit of VPN-over-DNS is that you do not need to configure the server yourself, we have already done it for you.

The other major benefit is that even if this VPN technology works almost everywhere, people do not often use it because of its low bandwidth performances. To overcome this effect, we have included directly in the application:

1- an optimized basic text-only Mail User Agent handling mails from GMail, HotMail, OperaMail and YahooMail: your 20 newest mails are downloaded in less than 30 seconds, most of the time.

2- a basic text-mode Web Browser : most of the web pages are downloaded in less than a minute.

For this purpose, the Mail User Agent only downloads text part of the messages, removing attachements and other HTML stuff. Similarly, the Web Browser is a text-mode only browser, removing pictures, cookies, JavaScript, and other stuff like CSS. For this reason, it won't work with web sites for which some of the previous features are mandatory. In this case, the application handles TCP port redirections and offers access to a web proxy through the VPN tunnel, for a full-featured Internet experience, with images, CSS, cookies, SSL, JavaScript, etc. (but be prepared to wait for a while...).

You can also access your SSH server using this port redirection feature, and the low latency protocol makes performances rather good.

You MUST check that you are allowed to use this program through the network your are connected to, before trying to establish the VPN. You also may use this program to check that YOUR network is protected against DNS tunneling.
