Mahone's debut single "11:11" was released on February 14, 2012. His second single "Say Somethin" was released on August 30, 2012.Mahone first started posting videos on YouTube with his friend Alex Constancio in June 2010.[3] Music videos followed by January 2011, and he began to build an online following. He has been called the "second coming of Justin Bieber".[4] when in October2011, Mahone posted a video covering Justin Bieber's song "Mistletoe".[4][5] On August 28, 2012 Mahone announced that he had been officially signed to Chase/Universal Republic Records.[6] Mahone's first single "11:11" charted at #19 on the Billboard Heatseekers Songs chart. He has often been seen kicking it with the members of one direction (Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson) in their hometown and "just chilling" backstage.
