SIMDir is a truly unique product, because it is a true "File Management" program and not a " Document Management" program. It's ablitity to provide solid, systemised folder structures means SIMDir can totally match and outperform your manual system. One of the core problems all organisations are confronted with, even those using the best available document management systems, is the inability to effectively control data that is created outside the Document management program. This is not the managers fault, this simply because of the way windows is designed. It provides a very abstract approach to managers and their user.In effect they are given a filing cabinet that has no drawers, no structures for folders and no visual prompting leaving every user to their own design. You see the difficulty! This is not an IT problem! This is a management problem! As IT Specialists, we've watched users struggling with this for years, this is the reason we decided to fix the problem with SIMDir! What SIMDir really does, is allow management to preset folder structures and their locations, to the extent that they can totally mimic their manual system should they so wish. Provide the necessary visual prompting users need. User only enter 3lines of data to create one long filename based on your naming covention and within less than second 100's folders can be created under the head folder. The manual systems work because the folders hold information in a centric manner. For example; you might have a folder for "Mr Jones" and within that folder traditionally you would have copies of emails, faxes, letters sent and received, artwork, etc. All of these documents would have been separated within the folder by coloured tabs/paper or even other folders. Interestingly, the user still creates structures, but they have no choice over the structures or locations. All this is now within managegment's control!
