Download it if you live in England and will be attending an English University in 2012.
It includes a calculator powered by moneysavingexpert.com which allows you to enter the tuition fees and amount of maintenance loan you need to study at your chosen university and calculates how much you will repay and when the loan will be cleared. It also provides information about grants and bursaries available through universities and other higher education institutions.
This is the only app that will give you practical advice about the impact of the new student tuition fees on your pocket and show you that it is not nearly as harsh as many fear. Forget the headlines shouting that some 2012 students will leave university with £50,000 and use this app to discover that student loan repayments depend solely on how much you earn when you graduate, regardless of what you borrow. If you choose a career which isn’t highly paid, you won’t pay much at all, whereas if you earn big bucks, you’ll pay back more than you borrowed, but will have more cash to pay for it. Some call it “no win, no fee”.
