POP Peeper is an email notifier that supports POP3, IMAP with Idle (AOL, AIM, Netscape, etc.), SMTP, Hotmail, MSN, LiveMail, Yahoo, Mail.com, MyWay, Excite, Lycos.com, RediffMail, Juno and NetZero. Other features include portability, password protection, an address book, viewing in HTML (or rich/plain text for security), open/send attachments, setting different polling intervals for each account and more. There are also many notification options available such as sound alerts (configurable for each account), flashing scroll lock, skinnable popup notifier, customized screensaver and more. There are several different trayicon options to indicate new mail has arrived including an animated icon and displaying the number of new messages directly in the trayicon. With support for the IMAP idle command, you will be notified instantly when new mail arrives in your mailbox. For additional security, you can choose to use SSL/TLS and there are options available to make reading email safer when using HTML by removing possibly harmful file attachments and web beacons. Besides just reading your email, you can also delete, print and reply to messages. Advanced users will enjoy the ability to customize toolbars, keyboard shortcuts, columns, fonts and more. Many more advanced features are available while keeping the interface simple for new users.
