Ciansoft WebTwainX is an ActiveX (OCX) control designed specifically for use in a web browser application for scanning or capturing images from a TWAIN compliant device and then uploading the images to a web server. It is supplied as a complete package including the necessary server components for receiving and saving the uploaded files. A comprehensive user interface provides full control over the image acquisition process. This can be done either by calling the built-in interface of the device driver or by setting the color depth, resolution, image size and other parameters in the WebTwainX interface and bypassing the device driver interface. After capturing one or more images, these can be sorted and simple editing can be carried out including rotation, cropping, deskewing and despeckling. The images can be uploaded to the server using a choice from several popular file formats including TIF, PDF and JPG. Multi-page TIF or PDF files can be created. A fully functional trial version is available in which the only limitation is that a line of text is added to each image showing that trial software has been used. The user interface can be extensively customised using a clientside script to modify both the appearance and functionality. Compatible with version 2.2 of the TWAIN specification.

CIANSOFT WebTwainX 1.3 SINGLE SERVER LICENCE AGREEMENT. PLEASE READ THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS BEFORE INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE. This licence agreement applies to the Ciansoft WebTwainX ActiveX control and any accompanying files (collectively referred to as 'the SOFTWARE'). By installing the SOFTWARE, you are considered to have accepted this agreement. 1. GRANT OF LICENCE. You are granted a non-exclusive licence to install and use the SOFTWARE on a single web server. You may transfer the SOFTWARE to another web server only if you delete the previous installation. You may install the SOFTWARE on one additional computer solely for the purpose of application development and testing. 2. DISTRIBUTION The ActiveX control file WebTwainX.ocx, or its compressed form WebTwainX.cab may be downloaded from the web server by a remote client computer which uses a web browser to access a web application hosted on the web server. Apart from the above exception, you must not distribute the SOFTWARE or any of its component files. 3. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY. The SOFTWARE is the intellectual property of Ciansoft. You must not disassemble the SOFTWARE or sell it to another party. The server component files (WebTwainXUploadASP.dll and Ciansoft.WebTwainXUploadNet.dll) must not be used for any purpose other than to receive and process data that has been uploaded from a web browser by the WebTwainX ActiveX control. 4.
